There are many walks to enjoy around Loch Lomond and the Trossachs area, from relaxing strolls around lochs to more strenuous, hilly walks, where you will be rewarded with spectacular views all around.
One of the most famous walks in the area is of course the West Highland Way.
The West Highland Way starts at Milngavie
(just outside Glasgow) and stretches 92 miles to
Fort William in the Highlands.
Many people like to combine the walk with a short break in the
highlands, stopping off at B&B's and cosy inns along the way.
It will take about a week to cover, depending on age, ability and
speed!
Begin at Loch Lomond, at the foot of Ben Lomond, pass through
the lowlands across the Highland Boundary Fault and into the
stunning scenery of the Highlands.
Obviously the weather, and midges can dampen things a little and you should come well prepared!
Killin is an attractive village, at the west end of Loch Tay. Its focal point is the narrow stone bridge and the beautiful Falls of Dochart.
